Overcoming Organisational Challenges arising from the Technological Advances in Future Mission Critical Network Infrastructure

Wednesday 24th May (2:15pm - 2:30pm)

Critical Communications Networks around the globe are entering a phase of change, driven by the need to support similar functionality as that offered by commercial public radio networks. Unlike commercial public networks that have been through two entire technology refresh cycles, i.e. 3G and 4G, many public radio networks are still based on technology originally dating back to the 1990’s. The novel technical and organisational challenges which arise from this situation and some of the medium and long term potential solutions form the subject of this session.
