UIC Rail Academy | FRMCS Engineering (4-5 October, Paris)

Join us on 4-5 October at the UIC Headquarters in Paris for the new in-depth FRMCS Engineering Course.

GSM-R end of life is anticipated to be around 2030 which only leaves a few years to find a replacement system. The UIC has published updates to the FRMCS documents, which outline what will be required of a future system.

One of the key elements of success is developing the necessary skills of engineers well in advance of the start of FRMCS deployment. This fully updated 2-day FRMCS Engineering instructor-led training course is designed for anyone who would like to gain insight into how mobile telecommunications for railways may migrate to FRMCS.

During this course, you will:

  • Learn about the standards-based approach to developing FRMCS.
  • Be aware of the key features and services FRMCS will bring to the railways.
  • Discover how 3GPP 5G technology can be used to support FRMCS.
  • Describe the potential migration paths from GSM-R to FRMCS.
  • Understand the radio spectrum issues associated with migration.
  • Understand how 3GPP Mission Critical applications can be adopted by FRMCS.
Places are limited, if you'd like more information or would like to register you can do so here.  Alternatively, you can email uicacademy@wraycastle.com.
